Southwest Queensland is a hotspot for significant weather. Supercells are not uncommon, just as this one which swamped the town of Yelarbon and eventually raised a State Emergency Warning. The open plains, strong winds, and moisture make it fertile ground for storms, providing much needed moisture for the adjacent farmland.
