I am one of Australia’s most highly awarded smartphone astrophotographers, in addition to being an experienced tutor. I also run one of (if not, the!) largest Smartphone Astrophotography community on Facebook with a few of my friends.
I offer one-on-one and group tuition in lutruwita/Tasmania, covering everything from the basics right through to how to process and enter imagery for competition and sale.
Sessions are 2 hours and offered via Discord or Zoom, broken into the following:
- Introduction to Smartphone Astrophotography
- Planning a shoot
- Techniques in the field
- Basic post-processing
- Tips and tricks
You will learn how to capture the absolute best possible images with the mobile phone you already have, whether it is an iPhone 11 being held to the sky, or the latest Android mounted to a fancy tripod, the results that are possible will amaze you. In fact, the images in this gallery are photos directly from my iPhone with basic processing.
I have captured all kinds of phenomena in all kinds of places in all kinds of conditions, so I can ensure that we achieve the best possible results for conditions. I am an expert weather forecaster (both terrestrial and space), so I can ensure that no opportunities are missed. I can’t guarantee that you will take award-winning photos, but I you can be sure that you’ll go away taking pictures like you do.
