A reddish-brown carnivorous marsupial patterned with white spots, including on its tail, a mark unique among quoll species. The second-largest surviving carnivorous marsupial after the Tasmanian devil, it hunts nocturnally through wet eastern-Australian forest, taking prey both on the ground and in trees.
