Yellow-tailed black cockatoo (Zanda funerea, LC)

A large, brownish-black cockatoo with yellow cheek patches and tail bands, 55-65 centimetres long, found across southeastern Australia including Tasmania. It feeds on she-oak and eucalypt seeds and gouges bark to extract wood-boring beetle larvae, and gives a loud, far-carrying “kee-ow” call.
